Here you can find archeological zones, culture, gastronomy, history, dream like places and more!

Valladolid was called “Zací” that in the Mayan language means "dew from heaven" and was named in honor of the Mayan patriarch Anhsaciual that the inhabitants raised to the status of a deity, and from which you can still find some pre-Hispanic pieces such as masks and statuettes that represent it. Later, around the 16th century, the Spanish conquistador Francisco Montejo decided to found the “Villa de Valladolid” at the nearby town of Chouc-Há and finally moved it to Zací shortly thereafter.

Valladolid has always been a strategic place, it was a must for travelers, pilgrims and pre-Hispanic merchants, as also for the Spanish conquerors, because this town is close to several other places and despite the passage of time, far from losing its value and interest, they have managed to shine with more intensity, so in 2012 it was named a Magical Town, or “Pueblo Mágico”.

A plan for every day.
It is a couple of hours from Cancun and there is so much to see and do that we recommend you stay a few days so you have the opportunity to visit the archaeological sites and colonial places that reveal its historical richness, the cenotes, the natural sanctuaries, the typical food and local crafts.
